Once every evening, while playing BF2, Ventrillo pukes an error message about the input device running too fast. That results in my being able to receive but not transmit. I have turned off the BF2 VOIP, but I still get the error message. What is this thing's malfunction???!!!

Thanks,

Pulver, someone mentioned in another Ventrilo problems post that they checked the Direct Sound box for both Input and Output on the first page of the Ventrilo Setup screen. If you don't have these checked try checking them. If you already have them checked try to see what options you have in the drop down box next to the Input and Output devices.

Good Luck.

Exactly the same problem I have Pulver.
Allthou only one of 2 problems I'm having with Vent.
I've been trying a new setting each nite for last few but haven't fixed yet.
Lemme know what you find works.

My current settings are, and these give the error message, are:
(1) The two check boxes for "Use Direct Sound" are checked off

(2) In each of the drop down boxes, I have two choices: SiS 7012 Wave; and Default DirectSound device. Currently they are set to Default DirectSound device.

What do you recommend?

I checked the two "Use DirectSound" checkboxes and selected my preferred audio device (not the "Default DirectSound Device"). In my case, it's C-Media Sound. Now, as I recall, there's another set of "Use DirectSound" checkboxes on the next tab...? I checked them all.

That seems to have solved my problem at this point. If mine starts puking again I'll let you know.

Chairborne,
I played on the server last night with Ventrillo. I had no issues. Here is the solution:

1) Uninstall ventrillo.

2) Navigate to the Ventrillo folder on your hard drive, under "Program Files", and delete that folder. There are some previous version leftover files that interfere with the New Ventrillo Version's files.

3) Install the new ventrillo version.

4) Talk trash.

I have heard you talk trash since you got your voice back. What up with that?
How is the weather up there in the beltway? I will be there in Feb. Should I bring a coat?

It is unusually warm for January. February is typically in the 40's, snow is probable. Bring your coat and your flak vest. The cold weather makes the drug runners short tempered.

February is a good month for extra cash in DC. Around valentines day you can make some bonus cash by beating up the fags, who hang out at the Washington Monument, and taking their money. They have alot of money on them to buy special favors.

Why the Washington Monument, you ask? OK....picture the Washington Monument in your mind...get it?

How would you know that about fags, Pulver, you ask. Are you a fag, Pulver? NO I am not a tail gunner. I've been on duty in DC a few times. You notice stuff.

So when you are up here, and you and your unit are tired of watching DVDs while on duty, you can perform a public service by cleaning up the Washington Monument Area and restoring its proper symbollism.
