I am sooo leary about this since the problems with Lockdown. I am reading some good things and other things that concern me...like still only 4 person COOP on Tango Hunt mode. Anyway, I went looking for more user posted feedback and found this thread on user posted videos from gameplay shot since the 12/12/06 release.

well, Ive been playing it for about 2 hours. It looks a lot like GRAW with those fuzzy graphics but it plays more like ravenshield. It isnt as linear as lockdown, there are various routes to the objective but you still cant jump over objects or go prone, you can only crouch. The view is better once you get indoors (not as fuzzy/dusty as outside) and definately better played in a darkened room. My reasonably new setup will only just run it, a more powerful cpu than my Athlon 64 3200+ would be in order and the recommended video card memory is 256mb (I only has 128 ). It's MUCH harder than lockdown, even on normal setting. Sounds, such as grenades are as far as I can tell, pretty much the same as ravenshield. The AI terrorists use the 'F' word a lot which I think is unneccessary.
The new actions I've found so far are rappelling (which is cool) and 'take cover' which allows you to hide behind a wall for instance but still get a glimpse of whats round the corner.
the good news is, you can pick up dropped weapons. My gun of choice so far is the G36c but there are most of the ones we know from ravenshield (no silencers though, which is odd). The manual says that multiplayer includes match modes like attack and defend/team survival etc with a maximum of 16 players either on ubicom or a lan. Co op mode is limited to 4 players and includes the full campaign or terrorist hunt.
I get a little dizzy from the GRAW type graphics but Im still playing with the settings. So far I'd give it about 8/10
I'll add more as I get into it further. So far I've been unable to locate a way of taking screenshots

Im still waiting for my copy, I hope my computer is up to the task. I too have a AMD 64 3200 but Ive got a 256 vid card, which from what im reading says its good. I also have 2 gigs of ram to boot too, but yeah. After finals are done this week I am looking foward to playing.

I have been watching the reviews of this so far and I thik I will get it. I saw the same video earlier this week. I am out of town until next week so I will wait until then to get it. Maybe there will be a miracle update to the COOP mode allowing more players.
Just a side note. I like GRAW and I only had a few video chop problems with it. I played a cracked version to begin with then bought a legit version. The MP seemed like a wall hackers paradise on public servers and I played that rarely. I enjoy the COOP mode except for the 4 player limit. The graphics engine is very nice with the interactive debris and sounds. The have already announced a GRAW 2 coming in Spring 2007. Maybe they will then address the COOP issue.

Brit, not sure what video card you have but I read that the card MUST support Shader Model 3.0. This rules out a bunch of cards that are BF2 capable. Only Nvidia 6 series and up (6xxx, 7xxx, 8xxx) and ATI x1K models (x16xx, x17xx, x19xx) can play the game. According to what I have read my ATI x850 Pro won't run it.
I will wait patiently and see what additional feedback rolls in.

theres a lot of comments on the R6 forums about the 'fuzzy' graphics but I'm on an indoor map now (in a casino) and it plays great. I have an nvidia 6600gt btw. There is no save if you are playing an individual map, so if you die, its back to the start. Also, there is no health meter so you dont know how many hits you have taken. What happens is, if you get hit the view gets fuzzy for a few seconds, even kind of goes 'negative' sometimes, which gives you a great sense of taking damage. There is no blooper gun (grenade launcher) the only grenades are those you carry. You automatically pick up any ammo for your primary weapon and heavier guns like the mg36 can shoot through walls and doors. There are shotguns, sub machine guns, light machine guns and sniper rifles as well as assault rifles. Other weaponry includes incendiary grenades, smoke, flashbangs C4 and breaching charges. I still havent completed a level but thats more to do with my gung ho way of fighting than anything else (you know how I was in joint ops lol). I'm really getting into the game now and recommend it.

I played the 360 version online and absolutely loved it. From what I know, both versions are the same pretty much, other then control differences. Infact the new patch that just came out makes the PC game compatible with the Xbox 360 PC controller, which i have. so that in it self is funny. The weapons and hits are realistic. It really seems like Rainbow went back to its roots on this one. Tactical shooting at its best. Heck even the 360 version has realistic mode and the feel and movement controls remind me of the older Ghost Recons and how great they felt. Im really excited.

correction.........there IS a silencer, you always carry it and just select, in game, when to fit it to your weapon. Also, some low objects can be climbed over. If this is possible you get a 'climb' message appear (if you have 'onscreen help' selected)
been playing the single player for three days now.....still havent completed a level
finally completed a level..............lockdown it ain't...good AI (mostly) and tough to beat
