Whenever I recieve an e-mail with an internet link I can no longer click on the link and be directed to the web page. My pointer changes to the hand to click the address but nothing happens. I am running McAfee but have not found any utility that would block this operation. I use Outlook Express for e-mail.......Thanks for any help or suggestion........

Download Microsoft's Windows Defender, Spybot Search & Destroy, or Ad-Aware and do a system scan. Use all 3 for a more encompassing scan. There's a good chance you may have some "spy-ware" on your system.

Thanks Ninja...ran all three and it still didn't help, but in doing so I found that it was in fact my pop-up blocker in McAfee.....I also found numerous adware/spyware that needed removed....Thanks again.....P1

I could spend quite some time going over the procedure to effectively remove spy and mal ware from ya'll's computers. Here is a link to answer your safe mode question.

I would suggest if you want to keep up on most of the new variants and ways to combat the crap that is coming out bookmark that site and join it. Everyone there is very helpful. I would also get a copy of HiJack This and CCleaner.
I don't know if I have told this story yet, but we had a computer come into the shop that the customer said Best Buy Geek Squad charged him $175 to tell him his drive needed to be replaced. It would not boot up or nothing. It was Dell with 2 SATA drives and 2 CD-DVD drives. I screwed around with the BIOS. I went to open up one of the CD drives to put in a BART's Boot disk in and out pops a Geek Squad diagnostic disk. It had all this writing about being punishable by law for having there intellectual property. Anyways the boot sequence was screwed up. I ran my shit on it ran Windows rescue on it and the damn thing worked.
So now me and some friends look this Geek Squad disk over. It is a scripted boot disk that autoloads AVG, spybot, ad-aware and the old ewido malware program. Then it updates everything and restarts the computer in Safe does all the scans then reboots back and removes all the programs. Homeboy got charged $175 for the indepth scan. Because the GS tech forgot to reset the BIOS, they wanted to hit him up for $95 for a new drive and another $125 to re-install Windows. He said screw that and came to me for a 2nd opinion. I charged him $65 to remove virus and crap. I charged him another $25 for a new cable for his SATA. I told him that was the problem with the drive. I still got the Best Buy disk. Anyone wanta copy of this programming genius?
