Raven Shield night

Hey all R63 players.

Kay and I had talked about having a Raven Sheild R63 night. We both have missed playing it and kind of need a night off from BF2. Tomb said he would have his server back up to play on it. I would like to have the R63 night on Sunday November 27th, if anyone is interested. Please leave some feedback and your thoughts. The more OSS playing the better. Thanks. 8)

I'm in. I have to reload the game and all of the maps. Tombstone do you have the maps on CD so I can download them? If not give me a list and I will start all over again along with the patches. At least there is no bunny hopping.

I would suggest only original RS, AS, and IW maps will be used since it has been a while. The use of custom maps is what started to create some issues. So as long as you have the standard maps installed anyone can join and play.

I'll put the server up tonight at about 2000 hrs EST to give it a test run. I should have all three flavors Raven Shield (RS); Athena Sword (AS); and Iron Wrath (IW) ready to be played.

The server info should be the same as was posted at the top of this forum before.

You guys read my mind! One more bunnyhopper and I think I'm gonna hurl!

I'm having a bit of trouble with R6 though...when I get to the ubi.com login, it hangs for about 2 minutes, then does nothing. The log file says :Warning: Failed to load 'NULL': Can't resolve package name
Warning: Failed to load 'Class None.(null)': Can't resolve package name"

I should at least be seeing a "error connecting" or something. I uninstalled and re-installed to see if it was one of those zillion maps we had going, but same thing. My account is still good 'cause I logged in on the ubi website.
To see if it was the router I opened up the "DMZ" which opens it all up and still nothing.
I'm gonna keep working on it this weekend...

UPDATE - I got it working!...something to do with not letting my router act as the DNS server, and connecting to my ISP's DNS's. It worked as DNS before...but oh well...

the game is 9:99 at wallmart my wife is geting it for me now. i used to play R6 back in the day so count me in but all i will have is r6 raven shield fresh install let me know if i need to download something and a link would be extra nice.

You should get the Rainbow Six: Ravenshield and Rainbow Six: Athena Sword packaged together. If that is the one you are all set. Except you need to patch.

That should set you up for the basic maps.

Finally getting my Server PC up and running again. I have the server loaded with Raven Shield v1.6, Athena Sword v1.10, and the Iron Wrath free expansion. I can set the server to run any combination of server types, maps, coop, or adversarial.

The Server name is "OSS - Old School Soldiers"
The PW is (posted in the members section)

BTW...Sgt.Kay hosted an excellant server on Sunday night. We had 8 people in their for some of it and I had no lag. We even had some strays (non OSS) find their way in. :)

I loaded RVS and Athena sword and tried to get in the server but I forgot my username and password. Does anyone know how to retrieve it?

Punisher, I checked my UBI.COM friends list and have you on there as:

Try that for your login name. If that does not work try here and use the link to retrieve a password.

Good news Plat...Do you have Athena Sword as well? I'm curious how that will work. Here's what I'm thinking...there was talk about adding some custom maps, but if we're running the server in Iron Wrath, that'll add quite a few to what we have in just Raven Shield. If you don't have Athena Sword, but do have Iron Wrath, I wonder if it will let you in. You may want to try joining an Iron Wrath server to test it out. Then, the maps you don't have from Athena Sword, may load dynamically like some of the custom maps do.

Ive just re-installed ravenshield, athena sword and Iron wrath plus all the patches.........I'm as ready as I'll ever be..........done some practicing and died a million times....but hey, thats no different to BF2.the only good thing is, I don't have humvees landing on my head.......though I'm sure punisher will think of something

I'd definetely be up for it! I have a second rig I could try to set up as a server, it may take me some time, though. Tombstone always ran a good one!

I would suggest we use Hamachi and play as a LAN game. Almighty and I have been playing with that and it works great.

I am back from vacation and ready for some rounds of RS action. Any night sounds good. We should definately try out the Hamachi connection for LAN type hosting. It may make it easier for others to host.

If you want me to keep a dedictaed server up I can do that too.

I have the R6, and AS also had the IW but last computer crash when I reformated the drive all was lost, if you guys are planning on doing this for a while I would reload the games. I have been playing the GRAW and really enjoy the "tango down". I do not have the Lockdown version, heard differing reviews. Maybe this afternoon I will open the vault and install the games and patch em up.

Wed night sounds great to me but so does Mon, Tue and Thur, Fri, Sat and Sun. But Just a note of Interest to those of you who have lost the Iron Wrath download (freebie) you always go get it again? I have gotten it three times due to transferring to a new computer or a crash that wasn't backed up (Ahem!!!). Don't do that! Just go to the original web site and do it all over again. Doesn't take long and it gives you a new Key and all! No sweat at all. Might as well get something from them for nothing. It will probably be the first and last thing you get from them for nothing, lol! Good Luck!

I loaded the games, and patched. Just have to try and remember how to approach things a bit more steathly, unlike BF2 where the noise really does not matter. I will not be able to play on Wed. I can't make it this week, but I am in for next week. For you new guys, just a few tips. Keep Punisher in front of you. He is always scratching his trigger finger. Watch out for Tombstone and his grenades. He likes to underhand them and they will bounce back. Finally keep an eye on Squad. He sprays and prays. :D :rolleyes: :) J/K

Yea definitely watch out for squad and that's before he leaves the bathroom! No need to watch out for me as I will be the one in the full blaze orange with the license tag holder on the back with the Glock Mod 30 in the shoulder holster and the .38 Airweight in the ankle holster, and a Fairbern in a holster taped to each forearm, lol!

Thanks to the Cool Ade Kid for hosting the Bang up last night! We had a blast and it was very enjoyable. I think we all had a great time once we all got in to the games and I finally got my shotgun! Yeeeeehhhhhaaaawwwww!!!! Lets do it again and damn soon!!!

Well I had a great time Hosting, I really enjoyed the game. Lots of laughs and more awsome domination by the collective OSS team. It was a blast cannot wait to do it again. You can all play in my sandbox, "Tango Down".

Sorry it took me so long to set it up right, next time I will take requests for the maps so that we can all play our favorites. At least I can say it was because I have not played for so long.
