I am running dual 8800 gts cards dale and I really like it . If you can afford it I would reccomend doing it . The new games rolling out look like they will take advantage of the SLI modes . to get more info goto http://www.nvidia.com/page/home.html and goto thier SLI zone . i found a real good deal on an asus A8V SLI Deluxe and 2 BFG 6600GT OC thats why i was asking if it was worth investing what little bit of money i have on it

Damn son....dual 8800's. I can only imagine how fast that is. I would think a single 8800 would smoke dual 7950's, which are nothing short of fast already. I'll bet you can't wait for some DirectX 10 games to play.:eek:

ok next question is this....do the cards have to be made by the same manufacter of can they be different? ( like BFG and eVEGA) i know the chipset has to be the same 6600 or in dj's case "DUAL 8800's" yeah baby!!

Hey Dale,

I just got an e-mail 2 days ago from EVGA about this. My issue is that if I want to go SLI I have to either steal or buy a 7800 GT off ebay. No one is carring them any more, anyways...EVGA said you can run different manufacturers as long as they are the same chip...7800 GT, 6600 CO...and so on.
