This somehow squeeked by in the news.

Sure they admit doing it after they got caught just like Sony did. I don't charge by the hour for removal of their products. If you never have tried to uninstall or remove any Symnatec product you won't understand this. Their products have merit but are heavy on the process usage. This just takes the cake. I personally don't recommend using Norton for protection. (an unsolicited remark)

I can't stand Norton anything because of their system hogging and the fact that most virus' disable their A/V anyway. I dumped them a few years ago. I'm currently using NOD32 from Eset software (http://www.eset.com).

Thanks Mac. I use Norton on 3 PCs. Never broke the habit from way back. (Edit: I actually only have Systemworks installed on 1 PC and from what I read it is the Protected Recycle Bin that is the problem. Off to do some deleting.)

I got some Norton removal tools if you need them. I have collected quite a set.
