View Full Version : I defraged
So, I've been having "connectivity" issues everytime I download something or something attempts to update. I'm assuming it's connectivity anyway. Connectivity, in itself, is a big word for me. Anyway, when I download a file, it downloads fine, but when I go to install it errors out. This doesn't happen ALL the time but I'd say 90%. Anyhoooooo...I was just cleaning up computer and doing different crap, ad aware etc etc....did pc pit stop etcetc.. I defraged the HD and this is what the report says. Is this good or bad? It means nothing to me, so I though I'd see if any of you computer geeks made sense of it.

I just did this for the hell of it, I didn't expect it to fix the download issues I have.

The log file looks fine Roo. I need more description of the errors out problem. What kind of programs are they? It could be a version conflict with Net Framework depending on if your version has ever been updated. Run Windows Update and see if it comes up. It is never listed as a critical update but you would be suprised to find out that just updating it will solve it.
Mac...all of the game updates I have done have not worked. I have had to download them on my other computer and put them on a CD and transfer over. I was doing the fun "Turbo Tax" today and had to get the updates and it errored out....I did the same thing, put them on the other computer and transferred them via cd.
Porn still downloads fine...thank goodness!!!!!!

That is weird. I am by no means a programmer, but I know Net Framework has alot to do with deploying applications and programs transferred over the net. I could only guess by copying and burning your removing some layer of the distribution aspect. Just spitballing here........... I know what has worked for me in the past and I was giving you a quick fix. Maybe one of the other fellas know something. I will put it on the "to do list" for research.
I downloaded that F.E.A.R. Combat and I am getting install errors too. I am working on that still.

McFeely's right, Net Framework does have something to do with formatting, deployment, and transferring data over the net. In order for me to help you with the problem, I need a more detailed explaination of your problem. It could be several thing, Net Framework, driver signing to certificate revocation. I am thinking it could be Net Framework setup in your Internet Zone security settings or Active X Controls settings in your Internet Zone security settings. You need to send me a PM and we will set up a time to go into your PC and look at these things.
