I know that you can't put special characters in for your prefix when you go in during the log in screen but you can get around it.
Here's what you do for the |OSG| prefix tag:
1. Go to C:\Documents and Settings\your username whatever it may be\My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles
2. Open up the global.con file with notepad(right click on it and choose open with... then choose notepad)
3. Now when you're in notepad you should see something like this...
GlobalSettings.setDefaultUser "0002"
GlobalSettings.setNamePrefix "|OSG|"
What's in parathesis right now for you might be different, like 0001 and your current prefix at the time. DON'T change the setDefaultUser number.
4. Where I have |OSG| in qoutes that's were you put the text in to get the prefix.
5. Now go to file and click SAVE
*DO NOT FORGET TO SAVE OR IT WON'T WORK*
6. Now when you fire up your BF2 it should be in your prefix when your at the log in screen. Don't change it just log in and that's it. :D
