I have an interesting situation that I'm trying to figure out...when I run graphics intensive applications (games) the system will occasionally reboot completely, no warning. What I know of my system:

NVIDIA 7600 Pro (SLI), PCI, 500 MB
P4 3.0, Prescott
2 GB RAM, 2 Slots, DDR
400 Watt Power Supply
GIGABYTE Mobo.....

Has happened once or twice when browsing News sites (Not Porn!!!), not very graphics intensive.

I've made sure I have the Manufacturers latest drivers, and the BIOS is up to date.....

If anyone's heard of anything similar please let me know! Thanks...

something just like that happened to me. turned out to be my power supply. 400 seems like it's on the low edge of what's required for that system. you may not even be getting 400 out of it.....

that would be my gut reaction: the power supply.

second guess: a faulty/clogged up fan on your pc. another problem ive had which produced similar results.

EDIT***

i noticed you said sli, does that mean your board supports it or you are running sli.....??? if you are running sli, 400 definately isn't enough, but im sure you knew that. just wanna clear it up

That's what I was thinking too.....all things being equal. Thanks Comet. It's a good excuse to buy a new gadget....

Something to think about when shopping for a new PSU, buy something big enough for future expansions or upgrades. If you build your own computers think about where you might be 6 months to a year from now and get a good PSU. I went with a PC Power and Cooling 750 watt silencer series, I am sure others have their preferences.

Might want to check your cmos battery just in case. Cost much less then buying a PSU.

Yeah, I had a similar problem with my NVIDIA GeForce 5200. I got the Blue Screen of Death - complaining about the graphics card not responding. I guessed that the card was cooked and lost its mind. I replaced it with an ATI model 1050 (which has double the memory of the 5200). No problelms sinced I replaced it.
