Hello All,
I would like everyone to consider making certain driving assists available to whomever wants to use them. In particular; AUTO SHIFT(which we already have), TC and ABS. These last two, I believe, would increase the "fun" factor of our racing tremendously. I also believe this would help less tatlented drivers, particularly in F1. I believe we should allow these aids to simply make the racing experience even more enjoyable for everyone.
I run Friday nite races with Allsimracing.com (SuperClios) using low TC and ABS...it was totally awsome! I was in a multilap duel with a couple of drivers and even though the car we were driving was a little slow, having these aids available made for some exciting racing. I think that is utimately the goal no matter where you race.
Just a thought

I have set the TC, SC and ABS all at "1". Let me know if the lowest level is enough. ABS abd SC go only as high as "2", while TC goes as high as "3".
I have done this on both the NROS and Indy/F1 servers.

I'm not a big fan of assist on the nascar mod.

Ragnar, we can do some testing but from what I recall the assists will not make the car any faster nor will they even kick in for drivers that already have good control of their car. I believe they will make drivers struggling with a track, a setup, or their own wheel settings, a safer more stable driver. They won't make the stable drivers any faster and it won't effect the faster drivers at all.
Let's test it and see what happens. We have a week to try it out before deciding to make them available in a points race. If they do effect speed or tire wear on the mid pack and lead pack cars then I agree we should turn them off. If they only help the back of the pack cars be more stable and safer and help the mid pack cars handle better longer then I don't see a problem. It may even help prevent cautions that have a negative impact on the racing.
Personally, I have never used assits or aids in the stock car sims. Well except the Auto Clutch. And won't turn them on if we allow them.
Just my 2 cents.

I think you hit it right on the head, Tomb. The whole point is to make for less restarts. NASCAR doesn't really need alot of anything as far as aids go, but TC may help if there are probs on restarts. The only reason I even thought about it was when we were using SCE and I saw alot more cars all over the place than usual.
As far as an advantage is concerned, most comments I've heard point toward aids actually hurting your laptimes. It is a price a driver may have to pay to get a raceable, stable car...and even if it did provide an advantage to some drivers, the better drivers could benefit even more.
Despite all the rules and regulations in NASCAR and F1, the "cream of the crop" always rises to the top. Having aids, at full descretion of the driver, won't change that! It'll just make for better racin' for everyone! :)

I can see both sides, but I have always felt that you make a stable setup by running laps not turning on aids. Just my two cents

I agree with you 100% Viper. But consider this; Talented drivers can run almost anybody's setup, sometimes I've seen the same drivers have totally different views on the same setup.
I belive what it really comes down to is your own ability to setup a car to suit your driving style. If a driver is having a problem, that's where the assists come in. I mean, sure, you can have a bunch of fast drivers and a bunch of slower drivers...but would you want to get wrecked because a driver simply couldn't control his/her car?
The main point I was trying to make was just make the racing evironment a good one...not just for the less skilled drivers, but also for the more advanced ones that truly deserve not to get DNF'd for no reason.
