I'M GOING TO KEEP NOTES HERE IN CASE ANYONE HAS PROBLEMS IN THE FUTURE, THAT WAY THEY CAN BENEFIT FROM INPUT FROM ALL OF US. :)

I think I'm one step closer to figuring out what's going on with my software. I tried running a race weekend offline, and many of the cars in that race were also messed up, so I'm thinking there's something wrong with the installed carpacks. I'll try d/l again and reinstalling and see what happens.

downloaded everything again...same results. It was suggested that my video card was going bad too. I have the latest update for it. Is there a way to run diagnostic on the card? I know there's extra stuff that comes with the install disc...I'll check that out, but I don't recall seeing anything like diag programs in there.

The mystery continues...and it seems like it's going from bad to worse:(

Tony did you uninstall the carpacks then try to re-install them? Have you run a DirectX diagnostic for your video issues? Here is what comes up in WinXP when I go to Help and Support and search for Direct X.

Troubleshooting DirectX

You can diagnose and resolve DirectX problems using the DirectX Diagnostic Tool and the Multimedia and Games Troubleshooter. The DirectX Diagnostic Tool helps you test the functionality of DirectX, to diagnose problems, and to adjust the level of hardware support used by DirectX, which can be used to avoid issues on some multimedia drives. The DirectX Diagnostic Tool (Dxdiag.exe) is installed with DirectX and can be run by clicking Start, clicking Run, and then typing dxdiag. For information about using the DirectX Diagnostic Tool, click the Help button in the DirectX Diagnostic Tool.

Open the http://www.team-osg.com/forum/ms-its:c:\windows\help\ntshared.chm::/shortcutCold.gifDirectX Diagnostic Tool (http://www.team-osg.com/forum/ms-its:C:\WINDOWS\Help\misc.chm::/EXEC=,dxdiag.exe CHM=ntshared.chm FILE=alt_url_windows_component.htm).The Multimedia and Games Troubleshooter assists you in diagnosing and repairing problems with DirectX drivers and games.

Open the Multimedia and Games Troubleshooter (hcp://help/tshoot/tsgame.htm).

Follow the steps and see if it helps. It also sounds as if you may have overlapping installs of different versions of rfactor mods.

Hope something helps.

thanks for the suggestion, Tomb. I check DX and it check out o.k., so the problem's not there.

The game's not skipping now when I'm on the track, but the one remaining problem is that I can only see some cars in all mods, so I guess I'm must be having a problem with my video card.

I've downloaded everything again and reinstalled to no avail.
I'll just practice with you guys until I can get my video issues resolved.

Thank you all for your help in trying to figure this out.

Hey Guys!

I reloaded the new mod (1-click) and the fix and I'm still getting the "NEXTELCUP.HDV or Track Config Mismatch".

I don't have to load the carpack too do I? I thought the 1-click included everything.

Anyway I loaded the 1-click again with the patch and did not load the carpack...same results.:(

I believe you have to download the 1 click install, tracks, patch, and camera update. You can download the audio updates as an option. NROS is so screwed up in my opinion but im pretty sure this is everything you need.

I d/l and installed cameraupdate, nextelcup_2_engine, and sounds_of_Nextelcup...still have mm's.

I noticed that plr update, but that was for the earlier mod right?

Now I see why so many folks have stuck with the NR2003 for so long! I love rFactor, but the updates drive you nuts sometimes!

Also, I hope you were not implying I would have to install each track AFTER installing the track pack.

well, if i remember correctly, the 1 click install comes with a locations folder already in it but there are not any files inside each track. If you download the track pack, all you have to do is overwrite the tracks already in the mod. Just copy and paste it right onto the existing locations folder and just click yes to overwrite anything. plus, make sure all the files that it gives you goes into the correct folder in the main rFactor folder such as rfm, sounds, each series, etc. I think i had to manually drop everything in myself because i screwed up but it only takes a few minutes.

Make sure that the install goes in your default rFactor install and that you select the CUP series in the Player menu. Not sure why you are getting a track mismatch. Make sure to move your player profile folder over from the NROS 2007 install so you will keep your setups from Season 2.

I finally got my game up and running right to get online, but I noticed that when I go to Indy, and Nashville(haven't tried all tracks) it will load the cup car even if I have the COT chassis on.

I'm afraid to mess with my install, but I know I'll have to...what patch am I missing? I installed the nros_busch_cts patch, the track pack, and 1-click.

dont worry, that is not ur problem. This mod was made like that. It makes you race what ever car they do in real life. For example, you are able to run the COT at darlington because that is what they ran in real life and you have to drive the old car at Lowes because it was raced there in real life. It is just how NROS made this mod.
