I had SERIOUS trouble connecting my Athena Sword to multiplayer. Here is a short list of tech stuff from the Ubisoft web site in reference to router settings:
Raven Shield requires the following ports to be open in your firewall/router:
Raven Shield requires ports: 7777 - 7787 and 8777 - 8787 Incoming and Outgoing UDP
Ubi.com requires ports: 80, 6667, 40000-42000
If you are behind a router and continue to have trouble connecting to ubi.com, or the CD key authentication server, please make sure that you have the latest firmware driver updates for your router from the manufacturers website.

Also, Norton Anti-Virus/Internet Security plays havoc with R6. Users in the ubi forums recommend turning it off to connect to multiplayer.
I have no problem connecting Raven Shield or Vegas...my problem came with Athena Sword. The port config for Vegas and Athena Sword are the same...I don't get it...router out the window. Those with more patience may find help with this post.
