We now have the capabilities of having a dedicated server for Rainbow Six Raven Shield, Rainbow Six Athena Sword, Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2, Joint Operations : Typhoon Rising, Joint Operations : Escalation, Delta Force 2, Delta Force : Black Hawk Down, Battlefield 2, Battlefield 2 Project Reality, etc.
Since our BF2 ranked and BF2 PR servers are hardly ever used, and our OSG Racing contingent has several servers running, I'd like to see what everyone wants OSG's First Person Shooters servers to be in and running 24/7.
Please vote for 3 servers in this poll (as that is probably the maximum number of FPS ones we can have running along with OSG Racing servers). Also, please ONLY vote for ones that you personally will use on a regular basis. If we all vote for BF2 ranked, and don't use it, we are not only wasting resources on our box, but missing opportunities for new members to find us through our servers.
Any thoughts, ideas, etc, please post them in this thread. We can always start another one in the future as our membership gets interested in some of the potential new games, such as Medal of Honor Airborne, Call of Duty 4, etc.

I voted for BF2 PR, R6 AS, and GRAW2. I don't have GRAW2 but if it is as good as ya'll say I may pick it up. I could go for any version of R6. BF is only fun for me as a mod.
Just asking but are the racing servers on the Hypernia boxes?

GRAW2 is great - if you like R6...you'll like GRAW2.
Yep - the racing servers are on the Hypernia box

Yes Mac. The racing servers run off the Hypernia dedicated box. We have 3 series but usually only 2 servers running at any one time. We also shutdown the other 2 race servers on our points racing nights; Sunday, Monday and Thursday.

Just for clarifiaction...We can't run a Raven Shield and Athena Swrod server at the same time. We only have one install of R63 so we can keep one or the other up and running, swapping between which ever mod is the desired on for the week. All custom maps work in Raven Shield some do not work with Athena Sword.

Yeah, there are a few of us who played it...for some reason it was short lived. I enjoy playing pretty much every mod out there and like switching it up.
OK Guys you may not agree with me but I enjoy playing almost every damn one of these games but only if there is someone else there to play along with me. I get no fun at all out of playing by myself. I never was much of a loner! Maybe it's my LE backround I have always had a partner, some good and occasionally the bad one, who seems to disappear pretty fast? The main ones that are getting the most play seem to be the Athena Sword types and the Graw and BF2 (vanilla) mostly because some don't have the upgrade CD's for the games. There are some new games coming out and the latest mag's say they are going to test your computers to the max and really use up your resources. MOHH Airbourne, World In Conflict and one or two others. So we are going to have to make some hard choices and they could get expensive if you go the wrong way. Me, I don't care, I just want to play! There are some games on our TS that we really don't have to have listed but as soon as we move them we hear crying but it can't be helped, that's why we have the poll. So get in here and VOTE! Just like real life. Nobody wants to VOTE but everybody want to cry!

It appears, after having tried running an OSG GRAW2 server that we will be unable to run one. When it was up, it used 90% of our box's resources and caused everything else to lag.
I have asked Hypernia to install a MoH:Airborne server for us to try once it comes out (they will be running servers in that game similar to BF2 from what I've read - ranked and unranked). So that may be an option for us to try out.
This poll will be discussed during the admin meeting Sunday night - please post any additional thoughts on OSG servers in this thread so they may be addressed at the meeting. Thanks!
