Is anybody else interested in this game? It looks kinda cartoonie, but interesting. I have a Steam account and they are offering me an exclusive pre-release version beta that starts today. It includes another copy of HalfLife 2 which they say I can gift out to anyone. Here is the link to the offer.

Hey Mac. I haven't installed Steam on this box. I seen a lot of buzz about insurgency, maybe I will re-Steam the box and see what all the fuss is about.

I saw a trailer for TFC2 on Break.com featuring the engineer, pretty funny. If the graphics are anything like the trailer we could have some fun on our hands. I was a huge TFC fan back in the day. Was talking to Capt Kurt about it today and left him with a gleam in his eye remembering the past.

I would accept your gift of HL2.

I reloaded Steam and actually remembered my account. I added you to my friends. I am using Tort.

I use steam to play CSS and DODS. Im planning on getting the TF2 when it comes out. It just sux working 2nd shift cause I never get to game with you guys.

I posted us on TF2 Dev (http://perforated-art.com/tf2/portal.php?sid=02e5a4b60a55759fd85d60d5f5cf5985) as a new server for TF2 and I had some good games tonight! Too bad I was the only OSG guy on...good bunch seemed to be on though. I might throw on the Beetlesmod this weekend, make for rapid respawns and stuff.

Hey Pongo, I figured out how to get my game to fire off and hope to be able to spend some quality time fragging with you guys.

Turns out it was my video drivers, I changed them to the latest and greatest from nvidia and next thing I know I was building a sentry gun.:eek:

I like the sentry guns. I had 8 kills last night with one. Camp a sentry gun with a dispenser behind you... good times.

First time into the game and I was trying to figure it all out on an empty server. So keep the dispenser close by, like right next to the gun so it self loads? Or for me to get re-filled and then help the gun? I am way behind on the curve here, and to really help things out my friggin headset broke last night. I ordered another one and hope it shows up soon. So no TS for this loser for a few days anyways...not like I am some sort of TS camper anyway.

You reload and fix / reload the gun. All good! Watch for Sodiers and Demo guys...oh, and spies too.

Stay behind the gun an keep hitting it with the wrench to fix it/ reload it. Keep the dispenser behind you to protect it from enemy fire. The dispenser reloads you and gives you more metal while you fix the gun.

I play on 2fort a lot and a good place to camp is in the sewers, especially on the enemy's side. When I do that, I also place a teleporter entrance by our respawn and put the exit right next to me. The point is, is to keep the gun, dispense and teleporter exit within reach of your wrench so you can easily fix and damage that might occur. Also, you need to beware of spies. Anytime I see one of my own players coming towards my equipment I bust out the shotgun and put a few rounds in them. If they are a spy, then you will see blood come off of them.

I'm also having problems with my headphones, so I haven't been on TS lately.

I have beetlesmod on the server, and I think I'll try fast respawns for a bit and stick to 2fort and a couple of other capture the flag custom maps. Feedback?

Thanks Mr. P. That is a great strategy. I still seem to be having problems getting any game on Steam to start up consistently. Thought I had it fixed, but its still screwing with me. I'll keep at it, I miss this game.

Correction: The ad states 24.99 but I set up the price myself last night for Friday morning and the tag was 9.99 for the orange box.... Hmmm..... I'll look into it some more.

So let me get this straight, you still work for BB and you can set your own prices? Nice fringe benefit. I wish I knew that before I bought my new 42" Westy LCD. I could have used a nice discount. I am bummed about this Orange Box though, I paid way more than that, those $hitheads at Valve should be shot.:mad:

I have had it since thankgsgiving, but i haven't even opened the box cause i got hardcore into cod4. if people are gonna play that one I'll load up prolly tomorrow (busy allll day and through the night). But I'll have a week to play whenever I want cause the lady friend is going out of state for a week.

I thought Sunday night was gonna be our TF2 night.

I also think that we should run stock maps like 2fort and dustbowl when we play as a team.

We have too many members who are new to this game to be playing custom maps. Custom maps are good for players like Pongo, Tort, and myself. However new members need to know how the basic maps work. I suggest 2fort, dustbowl, and maybe well.

For all of you guys who just got the game ... play on servers who run a map called '2fort'. It will break you in to the game.

This game is a blast. If you're having trouble at first, play the pyro class, then try the engineer. Check Youtube for videos on how to play each class...

I'd play this game over COD4 any day.

Saturday Night, 8 Central for our server. Hopefully we'll have the fast downloads working, if not, we'll go stock maps. Also, I'll put a map-pack on the FTP....just download the .bsp maps to the .../tf2/maps directory in your game.

Hey Pongo, I downloaded the map pack but I don't see a maps folder anywhere. I've searched every folder within the Steam folder under Program Files. I don't see any other listing on my C:\ for Steam/Valve/TF2. Do I create the maps folder? If so, what does it go under?

You can buy them individually through Steam I believe - one of the more knowledgeable chime in please!

Well...I said f@#k it and am now downloading tf2. Turns out to be $29.99 for TF2 alone. What do I need to do once it's downloaded? Are there mods/updates out that I need to look for? Thanks!

Sask, if you connect to a server the game being played will d/l onto your computer through steam. Pongo and Tomb enabled fast d/l'ing from our server as well. You shouldn't have to go pre-download anything. I play on a couple of custom maps servers and I get maps I don't have pretty fast. I also look for servers that have "fast dl" in their server name, that helps.

This just in, We now download at High speed! Thanks to Tombstone for the location on his file server, and for the technical help :D !

So for all of you wondering about maps, don't worry about them, they are automatic, and now fast when you are on our server.

Awesome! The less instructions I have to follow, the less of a chance i have of messing something up...I love automatic!
