Go figure

So, I got this new game...came home to install it....it errors out on me. Go figure!!!!!! The damn install shield can't even install it right...it errors at C:/.../main/iw.ol.iwd or something like that. Computers piss me off!!!!!

Hmmm...haven't played it yet, but it installed fine for me. Try again (I shut off my antivirus and everything else running in the background first) and if that doesn't work - check the COD forums at www.charlieoscardelta.com

Anyone having issues getting the game to install right on their PCs?

Keeps giving me an Error 1305 message.

"Error 1305.Error reading from file F:/setup/Data/main/iw._00.iwd. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it. Retry. Cancel."

That is the exact message it keeps giving me. Right off the bat.

Ugh, hope that's not the case for me I was lucky to even find this copy. :/

EDIT: I've just been clicking retry whenever it pops up and the installation bar is about half way through now. So hopefully it will be ok. Guess I'll find out soon enough. <crosses fingers>

Canceled and removed the disc. It had some kind of nasty crap on the disc itself. Cleaning it off seemed to have gotten the game on the right track to installation.

I too have this same missing file problem...

I can copy from the CD/DVD to a folder on my desktop, without issue.
When I search for the file in its correct folder is not there.
The file is not on the disc at all..

Why dont they just make the file available for DL and you can install of your desktop.

if you get the iw_oo.iwd error this is what you do:

explore your d drive so:

d://setup/data/main then right click copy the iwd_00 file, and paste it onto your desktop. if it transfers with out a problem then.. um... i donno. but if when you transfer it it comes up with an error, that means your disk is screwy. just go return it and pray to god that version works.

You can also check the data on the disk by downloading and running the CD Check software at

That is interesting because the Best Buy policy on opened software is that it can only be exchanged for an identical item. It cannot be returned. At least that is what Best Buy.com says under store returns.
