In another weak moment at Target I bought Crysis. I am out of town this weekend so I will have to wait to play until Monday. Has anyone else got it?

I have to pick it up at Gamestop still...just haven't had the chance yet.

Ninja was giving a brief low down on it. He seemed to like it. I was too busy dying over and over in COD 4 to hear more of his description of the gameplay.

I'm a ways through it McFeely. How far along I couldn't tell you though. The game is fun but VERY reminiscent of FarCry. I really like FarCry so that doesn't bother me but some people might find it sort of the same old same old but with cool new weapons and the ability to go quasi invisible. You definitely need to make a choice on tactics now when entering a hostile area. Just entering an area and shooting the place up can result in about 8-20 guys hunting you down and they aren't one-shot kills unless you hit them in the head. I've been using the kill who you need to and try and do it quietly mentality and that seems to be working. The game play so far has been pretty smooth, much better than the demo version and currently the only glitch I've run into was that it didn't update to the next objective after finishing the current one. I eventually found my way around by exploring and it triggered the next objective. Bottom line, the game is fun, very much like FarCry, the world and graphics look beautiful and there's good realism, but it hasn't blown me away yet with any game play moments or in game experiences. Aside from the visuals I'm actually having more fun with COD4.

Got it Friday, but I just started playing it due to a super busy weekend. I have to play a bit more to give a fair review, but so far it seems very cool. I loved Far Cry, so I may be biased.
The graphics are another world! I don't know how many people are running Vista, but you have the choice of DX9 (if you don't Vista) or DX10 (if you do). I do have Vista and DX10 (and a DX10 card) and it is breathtaking! I almost got killed a couple of time just looking at the scenery. The shadows dance around, leaves move independently, and the palm trees look just plain real.
I may have it cranked up a bit high, because the play is just a bit "loose". Kind of like GRAW1 was if you didn't have a hot system.
I'll weigh back in after a day or two of playing, but it looks like it will stay on the hard drive for a long time...

Played some of the single player yesterday afternoon...was pretty fun/addicting.
I haven't tried out multi-player yet - anyone try? Hypernia offers "free ranked servers" if we want to try that out sometime in the future.
