Many of the games we play (COD4, MoH:A, Vegas, RvS, etc) have Punkbuster support. Unfortunately, many of the games do not auto-update themselves on your computer like they used to. The one benefit is less lag and connection problems for you in multi-player, but most people don't know how, or why they have to update Punkbuster.
Here's what you need to do:
- create a folder on your C:\ called Punkbuster (or whatever you want to call it)
- download pbsetup from here : http://www.punkbuster.com/index.php?page=pbsetup.php
- follow the read me file under the download location to add games that you own to your punkbuster folder
- check for updates on a regular basis as this will cause less kicks from servers for out of date PunkBuster files, etc.
I will post updates in the game forum for whichever game I've just updated the Punkbuster for on our box so everyone will know when to make sure their Punkbuster files are updated.
