Battle field 1942 + desert combat mod

Ok all of you know what battle field 1942 is me and ninja were talking last night and wanted to see if anyone else was interested in getting this classic back up and also desert combat. Desert combat has got to be one of the most fun mods i have ever played in my life. this is coming from a person who if is not at work or with my girl i am on the system i am a hard core gamer as they come anytime anywhere but as for desert combat these guys put this mod out before bf2 was even bein thought up. it has all the features of bf2 but also more it has Ships Air Vehicles and Ground units maps r big did i mention it has ships. yes carriers battleships with tomahawks u can guide and helos and even subs u can dive in them then pop up and destroy a battleship anyone who is interested needs bf1942 + it appears thier r three mods u need to dl not really big in size but trust me well worth it. i love call of duty 4 alot too but as for team work i miss the old days when we would squad up call of duty right now is a run and gun for most maps and we r seeing less and less teamwork until the mod tools come out so me and ninja thought this would be a nice change even playuing the origin 42 would be a nice change no machine guns or helos straffin u but the old WW2 planes r niceto try and fly and does take some skill to hit anything with it. what are the mods? there's one i'm looking at online now at bestbuy for $9.99and it has the following:

the mods just go with battle field 1942 original no expansions then the mods are
1. Desert combat
2. desert combat final
3 desert combat extended


List of what to do
Install bf1942 and use the two game updates think they r patch 6 full and incremental 6.1

Then dl and install desert combat in the bf 1942 mod folder
then dl and install desert combat final bf 1942 mod folder
then dl and install desert combat extended bf 1942 mod folder

u kinda need all three cause the servers in here run diff mods but all three r good but no used to the older graphics lol dc final is like a update on the vehicles and such and extended mod adds more to the game like weapons and certain vehicles.

For those of us who wanto to play vanilla bf1942 both me and ninja have the expansions also i just have to install them u can buy this game at best buy for 9.99 and it includes all the game and expansions and even bf vietnam which was a really good game also.

Everything CrazyC said! We were talking last night about doing some old school Battlefield 1942 and then we started discussing the Desert Combat mod. If any of you guys are interested it would be a blast to play with everyone! Just hit me or CrazyC up if you have any questions.

Just a correction about patch versions. The latest version for BF1942 is 1.6b.

theres two patches for the main game v 1.6.19 and v 1.61b and the latest mod file I could find was desert war v9.0 all on fileplanet, just search BF1942

hi i used to play dc all the time untill bf2 came out and then i lost intrist in it i am now looking into getting back into it but i dont no what the newst version is so what is the newest Version of Desert Combat Extended is it v9.0 ??

Any body else having problems getting it to run on your system it loads and then locks up when you tell it your done selecting

your probably missing a patch , i know if you have vista there are no crosshairs
