I received this PM from "A Moral Center" today:

"Battlefield Conquest League
Hi Balti,

I am the Relations Officer for Battlefield Conquest League. We are a competitive gaming league founded upon principles of sportsmanship and fairplay. We're a "relaxed" league. The communities and clans that compete at BFCL are older, mature, and while they love match play, generally have more important things to do than be "professional" gamers, with all the ego that, sadly, all too often entails.

I found OSG through the Multiplayer Network. After reading some of your announcements regarding OSG's history and philosophy regarding community. I feel that OSG is the kind of community BFCL is built for.

However, I don't like to start posting all over clan and community sites. I prefer to speak to administrators privately, give them a chance to consider the opportunity, and then either announce themselves or I can then post an invitation in your forums for the rest of your members to discuss.

I came principally for our upcoming inaugural competition in Team Fortress 2, but, judging by your site, you may be interested in our BF2 and CoD4 divisions as well.

BFCL is not an open league, we screen new teams with an evaluation process before granting full member status. Feel free to visit www.bfcl.info (http://www.bfcl.info/) to get a sense of what we offer and are about. I'm here to answer any questions you have, you can contact me through any of the methods below.

Thanks for your time,

AMC"
___________

It seems that they have ladder type competition in the following games:
Battlefield 1942
Battlefield 2
Battlefield 2142
Company of Heroes
World in Conflict
Team Fortress 2
Call of Duty 4

Anyone interested in this ?? I filled out an application and the next step is to post in their forums and complete two scrims vs other member teams before we are even considered for membership in the league. Post your thoughts here....

With the exception of TF2 (don't have it), I'd be up for some friendly competition.

They already have BF2, BF2142 and BF1942 competitions rolling. Their TF2 and COD4 competitions are getting organized now. Here's a promo picture for the TF2 Competition:

And here's A Moral Center's sig that shows the web site and general info:

Seems like a perfect fit for our membership with like groups/clans to compete against.

Very interesting and nice to see they sought us out. I think it would be great to try one or more, as long we have committments to follow thru with it. I know some of our members have never experienced ladder play here with OSG and if the action is anything like it once was those representing us will have a great time.

I would be interested in the followiing Balti;

BF2
TF2
COD4
WiC - World in Conflict

May want to look for at least 2 volunteers for any game we sign up for to be active over there on their site/forums and relay info back to the rest. That way not everyone is burdened with looking for info over there and no one person is burdened with doing it all for all games.

Just my 2 cents.

Ok, when I get home from work and also tomorrow morning, I'll try and get some various threads up in the ladder area of the forums and post what information we need to get started. If you guys want to just reply to this thread if you are interested and if so, in what games, that would help as well.

I was just browsing though their website...they have quite a few interesting competitions. They have tank vs tank...dogfights, etc for bf2. It could be a good way to revive some interest in BF2.

How does this work anyway? If, for example, two people from OSG wanted to sign up for 2vs2 tank ladder, do we need to go through our server to get "permission" to do so since we would be representing the OSG name? The reason I'm asking is because I know some are interested in TF2...some COD4, etc, etc, etc and I may be interested in something totally different. Do we have to stick with the majority or if there's interest can we sign up for as many as we want as long as we have numbers? Sorry for confusing the hell outta ya!

Sask, if I understood Balti right I think we may setup some folders in our Ladders area for each game. From there we will want admins and members to volunteer to organize participation for OSG within that game. If you only want to particiapte in a BF2 squad on squad ladder but organize a Tank v Tank or Dogfight team of OSG then just post in that thread.

I do not think we would limit our members in what they could sign up for but because it would be as OSG we would want to make sure that enough were interested to ensure that we did not forfeit matches or screw up a balanced ladder because we had to pull out. Also, we would certainly want to track the competitions OSG members were participating in so we could support them and possibly generate new interest by other members.

We are always looking for people to help organize stuff around here. So if there are specialty competitions you are interested in post the details in the Ladder sectiom and do some recruiting.

I will try and get those folders setup in the Ladder section to help Balti out.

Basically, I have started the process. Once I get a good gauge of interest from our membership, I'll move forward with posting in their forums. Basically, you have to get through two scrims in whatever before being accepted as a competing team. After your first season in a ladder/match play, your team becomes official members.

We could potentially sign up 5 + members in a 2v2 competition let's say, to be able to compete at any given time. We could have a large team of 12 or more signed up for a TF2 league ensuring that we would be able to compete in a TF2 7vs7 ladder, etc.

We can sign up for nearly every competition/ladder they offer as long as the player interest here is there to do so. We would all end up registering as members under |OSG| and then be placed on various rosters to compete in certain ladders/competitions.

Ok, I started putting up roster pages under each forum in the ladder area. I'll PM Pill-Doc and get the remaining game sections up. Please post in this thread which game you want to be added to (if you haven't already) and whether or not you want to be a team leader.

Team Leaders will be the go-to guys to get the team organized for practices and matches within the competitions. I'd like to have at least two for each (more is fine) so that there is always someone around to take the role. Team Leaders DO NOT have to be admins.

Here is another snippet of info after I registered |OSG| there. I also completed "The Next Step" section just now:

THE NEXT STEP

As a new team you must now post an introductory message in the BFCL forums. This message is simply intended to introduce your team to the league and let the league members know that you are wishing to compete. There is no requirement for what is included in this message but it is suggested that you include the competition you would like to join as well as any other information you feel may be important. Please be aware that our Team Manager will not contact your team until this message has been posted.

LEAGUE PLAY

All new teams are permitted to compete as a Conditional Team for their first season of league play. Once the first season has been completed successfully the Conditional Team will be reviewed and a successful review will result in the team receiving Member Team status. Keep in mind that league administration reserves the right to review any team at any time and may remove a team which is not following league ideals or rules as required.

All league competitions which have new teams registered will host a pre-season of two weeks to assist the new teams with match play and procedure. New teams will also be observed carefully during this time to ensure that they are able to field the required number of players as well as follow rules and procedures as presented by the competition. Seasons of league play without new team registrations begin immediately and do not host the above mentioned pre-season matches.

LADDER PLAY

Our ladder competitions do not have the procedure outlined as above for league play. Instead all new teams are observed carefully by member teams for the first three matches in which the new team is active. After this time the new team is reviewed by administration and a successful review will allow the new team to receive Member Team status and continue to compete on the ladders. Keep in mind that league administration reserves the right to review any team at any time and may remove a team which is not following league ideals or rules as required.

LEAGUE IDEALS

Battlefield Conquest League is a competitive gaming community based on fun and fair play. Our goal is to provide a fun and competitive atmosphere to play the games we enjoy while maintaining a high standard of friendship and sportsmanship among our teams.
Because we place fun and fairness above all other aspects of competition we select the teams we allow to compete here very carefully. New teams are expected to demonstrate their ability to fit into the ideals of the league. Teams which are disruptive or detract from the enjoyment of the games we play are not welcome and will be removed without question.

Once again thank you for your interest in Battlefield Conquest League and good luck.
Should you require assistance please do not hesitate to ask a league administrator."

Added all requests so far. Those that have signed up from this thread (or haven't yet and are reading this), take a look to see if there is something else you'd be interested in as well. I got this private message from Holden at BFCL today and we have to complete two scrims before being accepted as a competitive team (then member team)...its all about screening good, mature teams :

"Welcome to BFCL glad to have you http://www.bfcl.info/phpBB2/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif As Stalker said in your post I am BFCL Team Manager basicly means if you have any trouble or need any questions answering please feel free to pm me as that is what I'm here for http://www.bfcl.info/phpBB2/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif

After reading you post I noted that you are interested in pretty much everything BFCL has to offer from Battlefield games to CoD4 and TF2. But I was wondering if there is one game out of them all that you are wanting to compete in the most here at BFCL? Two compete in BFCL you must play two scrims to enter on which ever game you have chosen. Once you played the two and you have been allowed to comppete in BFCL your team can then compete in any league BFCL has to offer.

Currently seasons happening or about to happen here at BFCL are:
BF1942 8v8 - About to start couple of weeks.
BF2 5v5 - Started
BF2142 8v8 - Started

I look forward to hearing from you "

The COD4 and TF2 leagues are brand new and would not require the two scrims first (as far as I can tell from reading over there).

OK Balti put me down for all of them as I will be there when needed. I am not the greatest player in the world but I make a good filler when I'm needed and there is nothing wrong with that. I can always be used as a sub?

Ok for those that have already posted in the other thread and/or signed up at BFCL, I need what games you would be interested in participating in : BF2, BF2142, BF1942, COD4, TF2, Company of Heroes, World in Conflict. Especially from Ninja, McFeely, Crazy, and Rage.

Please see the |OSG| Ladders section for all the different sub-forums. Easy way to keep all this organized.

Really just as a fill in any of these games. I don't have the deathmatch fever for COD4 like some. I like TF2 and would probably like the competition. Maybe in practice I would get the hang of it. I read the BF2 rules and it sounds like Blows Farts 2. I think me and Tomb are the only ones that play WIC.

That's not the only bf2 ladders goin on. Two others, that I know everyone would be interested in, started before we found out about the league.
