New Steam Client Beta

Anyone with a Steam account now can sign up for an improved beta version. Start steam and go to File then Settings. Go to the account tab and click the change button under beta participation. Select team Client Candidate then Steam will restart.

Here are the improvements.

Fixed downloads becoming paused
Improved download speeds
Decreased application launch time
Fixed URL links in chats to not include trailing punctuation as part of the link
Changed group event notifications to open at most 8 dialogs

Have you switched and do you like it?

I have a question for you, can you get accumulative point totals through hlstasx? I can't seem to figure that out. The points listed in my sig seem to be for our server only. I know I have quite a few more than that at other servers.

Ya i switched. I do DL games from them and had the paused bug that was fixed. and My game do launch faster i'm seeing.

About hlstasx It's per Server I think. I play on a hlstasx server and I have lots of Head shots. But It's only saying I have seven.

I think you just have to follow your stats at the hlstatsx site for your global stats. And the global stats only collect for stock maps, not custom...ouch.
