View Full Version : OSG - Fantasy Nascar
Hey guys, since we have a bunch of race fans in the group, I thought it would be fun to have a fantasy nascar league.
Its Very simple to play and will only be OSG members. I did not sign up last week, so everyone will be starting from scratch.
Here is how it works:
Follow the instructions below, set up your team by picking some of your favorite drivers and your all set!! Thats all there is too it. Now you can watch the race on sunday with a little more interest!!
Follow the below instructions:
You have been invited to join boardxtremist's Private Group in Yahoo! Sports Fantasy Auto Racing.
In order to join the group go to the game front page http://racing.fantasysports.yahoo.com/auto and click on the "Sign Up" button to create a team. After completing registration, or if you already have a team, click the "Create or Join Group" button and follow the path to join an existing private group. Then, when prompted, enter the following information...

I am in your league but i cant choose any teams cause the race deadline passed for this week. Looks like i have to start next race.

Ok, so since no one can pick their teams for the week, I will de-activate my team, so that we can start from zero for next week's race.
That way, there is no advantage. So, while watching this race, this week.. be sure to determine what drivers you choose moving into the season. You only get to choose a selected few drivers, but you can determine which of those drivers you use each week.
Sweet! 7 teams!!! This should be fun! Makes watching the races even better!

How late into the week can we do that Rage? I am out of town and forgot my information. I'll scratch my head and see if I can remember.
*edit* Okay I figured it out and am set for the weekend. Interesting groups of drivers and how many you can pick. I have competed in fantasy leagues at nascar.com before, but this is different and looks to be fun.
OK Guys I picked mine and activated them now what the hell do I do?
You watch the race and hope the guys you chose do good!

Yep... And every week you have to re pick your drivers and you can only pick the same person like 8 or 10 times. So don't blow you wad of your good drivers out the gate.
And remember to activate your drivers also.

Glad you pointed that out, I missed the part about how many times you could use a driver. This will definitely get interesting with a 36 race schedule even if we missed the first two weeks.
I was driving through SoCal on my way to Arizona Monday afternoon and was seeing all of the team haulers leaving for Las Vegas, sure got my blood pumping.:D

It said to pick 2 A drivers, 4 B drivers, 2 C drivers. Why do we only activate 1,2,1? What do the non active drivers do?

Your team every week is 2 A drivers, 4 B drivers, 2 C drivers. But you can only start 1 A, 2 B, 1 C, Drivers. The others just hang out and chill. Yahoo does it all odd like.

Hey Mac or someone? I need some help in the Yahoo Fantasy Racing? I have been unable to get into anything involving Yahoosince we left home on the 6th of May. Could you please tell me how I fared last week and give me the list of how everyone in our group were listed last week. I can't even re-submit new drivers because I can't access the Yahoo sites. They refuse to accept my passwords and new passwords and more new passwords and new everythings but still no access. Any ideas? Thanks Guys!

Oh the shame of it all. You had to post how bad I am doing. Typically my drivers dominate the first and second third of a race and then they fall off the map. I have to admit I don't really care for this particular fantasy league, but it is what it is and I'll make a come back you just watch.:rolleyes:

LOL Tort, I know what you mean. I think i have picked top 10 drivers in the last couple of weeks and they all get wrecked out. Actually had a 1 2 3 finish at Richmond but Hamlin and Jr got taken out. Then Biffle last week. :mad:
Goat, you have an extra week to figure out ur info. No points race this weekend.

Just so it does not go un-noticed, but I have been leading and kicking all your asses in fantasy racing this year. There is a lot movement and changes below me, but now is when I pull away from the pack. I have been sandbagging all season. I got 4 new tires and a full tank of gas. Go Team Brylcream! A little dab will do you, suckers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
what? Your talking to the league leader on the season! Ok, you just took things over the past two weeks, but as you went into the pits and got your 4 tires and a full tank of gas, I don't think you realized there was only 20 laps left in the race. As everyone pitted, team Rage stayed out and has enough gas and tred to take me to the winners circle!!!
Mac, feel free to join me with your sponsored drink, I have no problem allowing you to give props to your team and sponsors during my time!
On another note, As I cant stand K. Busch and never root for him... His past weeks failures have really hurt a brotha. !!!
Just sitting back...waiting for you guys to crash...ready to make my move.

I am half way to hell at this point. I am securing the bottom of the league and I double dare you guys to take it away from me.
Ok, so i just now figured out why I am not scoring any points... I was not aware that you can only have a driver for 9 starts. To see my score... be only 3 after the race today when All of my guys made the top 5, made me a bit confused. Now that I understand, I will set up my drivers for next week. Just FYI to all of you so you don't make the same mistake I did. Doh!

I was wondering if you caught that rule. I saw you had maxed out a few drivers a week or two ago. Someone pointed this rule out early on in this thread I think so I have spreading the love with the top drivers, saving them for later in the chase. Sort of sit in last place and then watch out I have dug too deep a hole to get out of.
I'm giving McFeely a chance this week to stay in 2nd and Chester to take over the 3rd spot........I'm going out of town tomorrow to go fishing, so I had to set my lineup early. I have NOOOOOOOOOOOO clue who to pick.....Good luck all!!!!!
P.S. Mc, I noticed your not in first anymore?? What gives?
