I have the Downloaded full version so I do not have to worry about the CD copy protection. I enjoyed it when i had it installed. I have not played it in a long while. It never was able to take the place of R63 in my opinion and was the first of the console style ports for the RainbowSix series.

If I installed a dvd rom emulator and ran it from there then that would end the danger of destroying my DVD Driver Correct ? I Think I have one in my files someplace

not necessaily. The starforce copy protection may install to your hard drive and run in the background regardless of if you have the cd/dvd in the drive. That is part of why so many people were experiencing drive failures even without the offending cd in the drive. I do not know if they ever stopped using the starforce protection and the date of the copy you own.
Ninja, unfortunetly became an expert on the issue when it caused issues for him when were racing using the TOCA 2 game.

Not all cd/dvd drives are effected by the problem so you may be OK. I think you may hear your drive spining up and down non stop even when not playing the game, this resulting in drive failures. I may be wrong about that though it was a long time ago.
I do not have my DL'd version installed so I can send it to you on a DVD.
