Good job Whiskey. These things definitely take time and a LOT of research. It would be nice if these games had a special section on each of their web sites for server admins...it would make life a LOT easier eh!?

Then they would jack up the cost of the game to $100 bucks or charge per month to suckers to play it...........err sorry AoC fans.

now if I knew how to make the desktop shortcut work as a .exe and not open as a folder I would be very close to having this done

The short answer...When we figure it all out.
The complete answer...We started off with files not suited for what we were trying to do and the configs and shortcuts we had working right with the mismatched files got deleted or fubar'd while we were trying to get it to work. So now we have the matched file for what we want to do but no configs or shortcuts to launch them. We know how to do the configs and shortcuts and now have the right matched files so we are closer than ever before. If I didn't just work a 17 hour shift I might have tried to work on it tonight.
I think it would be fair to say that Ninja and I have invested over 10 hours combined this week on it and Whiskey easily twice that much. So trust me we are anxious to get this working.

Wow, I don't even work that much at work! I've chatted with Whiskey pretty much every night and I almost feel guilty playing COD4 while he's working on this stuff...especially with him on the same teamspeak channel. It is funny Whiskey to listen to you "rationalize" everything with your outside voice...lol.
I wish I could help in some way, but you probably wouldn't want me anywhere near that stuff. I'd set you back quite a bit, i'm sure...lol.
Thanks guys!!

Ok! yes, We have spent many hours on this setting it up I have now even got a admin from X|R checking out our configs and command string minus the passwords and logins and we should get a answer back from him later tonight.( He is the admin that created the mod server at xtremeriflemen ) I have put all of the information that I have received from them on the Server desktop for all admins to view and jump in to help if they want. MILLER is going to join in the venture tonight when he gets home from work. He was a admin for cod2 and thinks he has some positive input ( I appologise for my lack of knowledge but this is how I learn HEAD FIRST) Goat has expressed his desire to learn how to do this also which is awsome. To all of you waiting we as a team effort will get this done and it looks like we will have enough guys for the summer to keep it admined ... Somtimes it gets overwhelming working on this mod but to be honest I enjoy the challenge and would do it all again just for the experience...

Whiskey, I thought I cust and pasted all the proper switches for the shortcut commands into taxt file or that chat file we had on the desktop. Also I know one of the links I sent you in PM had the exact text for all the switched needed. Just look for text that lookes like;
+set fs_game "osgcustom" +set ip 72.21.32.68 +set dedicated 2
It has swicthes for what mod config to use, map to start on, start with punkbuster, etc.
I won't be able to get on the box until maybe sometime on Sunday. Please make sure to backup everything as you go.
