If you haven't done it yet, be sure to experiment with graphics settings to see how high you can set them. When I first got the game, the defaults were set to less than Ultra High and the game looked quite a bit better when I turned them all the way up.
I'm running at 1280x1024, and this PC is a e6700 with single 8800GTX. I also turned on both HDR and Bloom which looks great on the 21" CRT I use for games, but either that or my brightness choice looks a little too washed out on the LCD I have sitting right next to it, so find whatever works for you and your monitor set up.
There is an excellent benchmarking tool in the game folders which is :
FC2BenchmarkTool.exe
You can experiment with different settings and launch the demo to easily see what effect different settings will have.
