I don't know if anyone who doesn't have this game actually wants it, but it's on sale right now on steam for $9.99...

Well worth it.... we should start playing this again, it's a great game. Ten bucks for this is insane. It's only 6 months or so old so calling it a "retro" night would not really be doing the game justice.

Went ahead and bought it off Steam.

Seems pretty cool. Well worth $10 from what I've played so far tonight.

I think I threw my copy in the garbage because it was well garbage. Couldn't connect to any server other than the official ones.

Did you try it after the third patch? That's when everything was fixed. A bunch of us played every Fri and Sat for months without server connection problems.

Its a good game Ninja it is worth a second look. I liked it over COD4. The thing on STEAM about the new maps is a crock of you know what.

"Vegas 2 has also just been updated to include 3 new bonus maps: Dark versions of the maps Murdertown and CQB Training, along with a newly lit and textured Calypso Casino. The eerie atmosphere of the dark maps cause players to use night vision to spot enemies."

Maps have been out since July 2008. Murdertown is awesome at night for TH. I will still play if any interest is there.

The reason they announced the maps as new on Steam is because they weren't previously available through Steam.

But yeah, if I discarded games because they didn't work out of the box, I wouldn't own any games. When I got COD5, I couldn't play at all until I installed the patch... and there wasn't much excuse for net code bugs since it's really just a mod that uses the same engine that Infinity Ward developed.

If game companies really hired the tens of thousands of full time beta testers it would take to truly simulate what happens AFTER the game is released, it would take billions to produce games and they would sell for $500 a copy. We are getting a good deal by paying $50 and taking on some of the beta testing burden.
