I was just a 12 year old kid in Tallahassee, Florida and I saw two Americans walk on the moon. It is kind of strange with Walter Cronkite dying this week. We only had one TV station in town and it was CBS. He was the voice of the space program.

ya its to bad the original tapes got erased
You sure you were only 12 Mac? :P
On a serious note, i still think this is one of America's greatest achievements. It's totally amazing that it was able to be done during a time where technology was not so advanced.

I was just negative nine years old (T minus 9?) as a glint in my father's eye when he saw two Americans walk on the moon...
Seriously though, one hell of an accomplishment even if it were done today.
Some perspective (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/5/5c/Earth_Moon_Scale.jpg):

Astounding that they went way the hell over there and made it home again.

Yes 12 and I was listening to Led Zeppelin on vinyl. It was amazing because NASA was advancing technology. The lunar lander's computer had the processing power of a digital calculator. Just think your generation will have the first release of Windows as it's greatest accomplishment in 26 years from now.
