Goat had posted a request that computer knowledgeable members be able to "walk" members through computer related issues.

I don't know if this is an option but there is a "Request for Remote Help / Assistance" feature built into WindowsXP (including the Home Edition). The easiest way to request help is through MSN or Windows Messenger.

I had suggested this option to Tomb to help me (walk me through) Adobe Photoshop. In response to this he sent me a Private Message with his MSN Account name (basically an e-mail address). If Tomb is on line oin messenger, I can send a request for assistance to him. If he "accepts", he can then see what I am looking at on my computer. If he wishes, (and the host permits) the client can also take control of the mouse, etc. This form of remote assistance in combination with a voice conversation can be extremely beneficial.

Of course this form of assistance requires that your PC be stable (i.e. it obviously wont work with internet connection problems, boot up issues, etc. :p )

Goat I don't know if this is an option for you but Coolio, Nitro and myself have used it quite a lot when helping show our father (Private_R) how to do things on his PC. If interested I could post brief step-by-step instructions (with screen shots) illustrating how to request remote assitance in WinXP.
