Hey guys, just wanna toss out a thread on the coolest gifts we got and or gave this year! :)
Myself, I got a 40" LCD for my computer monitor, and my lady and I got a Wii. Which I might add, the Wii is the most fun I've had playing video games in a very long time. Anyways Hope you all had a merry christmas and I wish all of you a very happy new year!

Well to get back on topic.
Drudge, did you get a burner or just the player?
I got a Kindle and it is really interesting. It looks like a calculator on my desk and no one knows I am reading. I got the wi-fi one, so I load it up at home before work in the morning and update at work. I read mostly tech blogs, a couple of newspapers and I subscribed to some magazines. I got 14 days to cancel before I get charged. I can barely play the games from Steam, now I got Amazon in my pocket too.

I just got the player. Bluray discs are still too expensive to buy I think, besides I use my portable hdd for that. But it does burn dvd and the rest so was an upgrade from my old one. Now I get to watch movies in HD right where I watch everything else so it works for me.

I got the wife a Sony Pocket Reader but may have to sneak it with me occasionally...great idea...lol! The only downside is the Sony doesn't have wi-fi...I'm not sure what the major advantages are, but 99% of the books that I'll put on it for her are downloaded from same place i get movies/music. So, hooking up the usb cable isn't that big of a deal for me.
As for me, I think the wife is hinting around at something...she bought me a really nice pair of running shoes...and a male grooming kit!

I bought my wife a wi-fi Kindle. She's already on her 4 book since Christmas day. Absolutely loves the thing. I have to say, it's a pretty damn cool device and one of the best looking out there both in screen and design. Neighbor has a Barnes and Noble Nook and it's pretty nice too but I think the Kindle is just a notch or two above it.
My wife got me an iPod Classic 160GB to replace my 8GB Nano. Sure is nice to be able to put ALL of my music and podcasts on it (over 30GB worth) and not even fill half of the device. :)

160GB...I have a hard enough time to find a couple hundred songs to put on my iPod Touch. It's not that I don't have the songs...I have about 200GB of music on my hardrive...I just can't come up with a couple hundred I'm in the mood for. There's only so much Celine Dion and Justin Beiber out there! lol
