Ya know with all the gaming chatter, political BS, humorous posts and what not I don't think I have ever asked anyone what kind of music do people like. I play the electric bass and have been somewhat of a rocker for years. I drive alot and I have XM radio in my ride and will listen to country, bluegrass, blues, jazz and mostly anything from the last 40 years.
The reason I brought this up was I found something new this week on the net. CBS.com launched a streaming video channel on their site called innertube. To kick it off they have posted a 45 minute concert by Pearl Jam who had earlier appeared on the Letterman show I think Wednesday night. It is mostly songs from their new album (which I downloaded and have to say IT ROCKS"). I am a big Pearl Jam fan and have seen them 3 times. This is a very good concert. Check it out here.

And by the way I would be interested in hearing what any of ya'll like to listen to when driving down that long lonesome road. I may start out with some Allman Brothers, shift into Dire Straits, then mellow out with some Floyd. That is just a sample of what is in my CD deck. Most of the time I am jamming to the XM. Ok oh well let me know.
I imagine most peeps are going to be surprised at this but for what it's worth here it is. If you go in my truck you will find just about all kinds of music including some Lynard Synard (Classical believe it or not) but I tend to run the Old Country and a lot of Bluegrass (old Blue grass) to which I am very partial. The oldies are a mainstay, that is the 50's not the 40's and not the 70' but 50's and 60's! Some good country Gospel and and old time gospel, Mihalia Jackson etc. I even have some Jazz and some newer stuff like the back street boys and their ilk. I am also partial to Folk music. So I tend to like it all. I guess that's from lettijng my kids gropw up with what they liked as long as they didn't knock what I liked? Capish? Now they are well rounded also. My oldest Son also plays the guitar (very well I must say) Oh by the way my truck has a beautiful set of BOSE speakers therein with a CD player and AM/FM Tuner. Sometimes I don't even want to get out of the truck?
Garth Brooks then right into Springsteen, ending with Kid Rock.....throw some Carpenters in there with a little Kingston Trio and call it a night!!!!!

Depends on the mood I'm in...My favorite is Newfoundland/east coast music(Canadian version). It's basically traditional/folk/celtic. If you could listen to one of my mixed cd's though, you would find the oddest compilation...Could start off with Nine Inch Nails, followed by Johnny Cash, then some G n' R, across to Eminem, back to Ozzy or Crue or even 50 cent...I like working out to stuff like Metallica, Disturbed, Nickleback, etc. I'm a little messed up when it comes to my music lineup.

Hmmmm....well, I guess most of you will consider me insane, but I have been into hard rock/heavy metal most of my life. You probably haven't heard of most of these, but these see regular rotation in my Nissan Titan speakers (since I can't blast my music at home anymore with two small kids...even though they like my music over my wife's country!) : Overkill, Drowning Pool, Shadow's Fall, Henry Rollins Band, Prong, Black Sabbath, Helloween, Pantera/Damage Plan. Now, if I'm feeling a little mellow, I'll pop in some classics : Skynard, Nugent, Deep Purple, Zeppelin, The Who, Clapton...

Uh maybe I should clarify my bass playing. When my son took up the guitar 6 years ago the only way to help him practice was to keep time for him with the bass. I am self taught using tabs off the net and playing to CDs. I filled in for his band at practice last year when the regular bassist could not make it. Needless to say practice did not last long. I had a hard time playing RHCP and Green Day. By no means do I consider myself a bass player. I will say I am a bass butcher. I will jam with the his friends, but I sound like a drunk Berry Oakley when I play. I have a Fender Big Block Precision Bass with Bassman 150 Combo. My brother works for Roland Corporation and he told what to get. The rocker part is just my taste in music.

Well since we are comparing our axes, I have a custom Fender Stratocaster and a small marshall amp. My motto is; If you can't play well, play loud.

Here is a pic of my basses. I just recently bought a PRS guitar and a Marshall amp for when I feel like getting nostalgic for my old guitar playing days.

I listen to Progressive Trance, its a form of electronic music and I love it. Growing up, I listen to 80s, and my dad's rock, which is now considered classic rock. Love Floyd, Love Van Halen, and Love Deep Purple.
