I kinda figured it would be to much for 56k ,or is there something im not programming right ?
went to gamespy, made account , confirmed , activated. etc....
start game, try to retrieve account and create but keep getting connection error on socket message. or somthing like that.
i notice there is no choice for dial up opt... in options.
anyway if someone sees this drop me an email or reply here when you get chance thx

:( 56k will not be playable theres just no way man.
I heard you mention SAT Inet this was last time i checked in to it not an option for gamers either. Your download would be fast but you still had to uplaod through a phone line which happens alot for gaming and would be like 56k all over again. I would say look in to DSL a lot of places that dont have cable have DSL.

thx plat i checked out those one way systems before and yea it would be just like dial up again. but i called direct tv about their directway sat and they said it is all 2 way through the sat.
its like 800 bucks including the install cause they say their techs have to do it. plus its like 100 bucks a month.
where i live ill never see dsl or cable. well it might be years from now but not in the near future. i app.... the quick reply thx and keep on fighting

Hey Sakura.

Yeah sorry to say found this quote at: http://www.tweakguides.com/BF2_5.html

Connection Settings: Battlefield 2 requires a broadband connection and cannot be played on a dialup modem. As such the options for connection speeds here are limited to 'Cable 256 KBPS or Better', or 'T1 (LAN)'. For all broadband users playing on the Internet I strongly suggest selecting the first option, as the T1 (LAN) option requires too much bandwidth to maintain steady pings - clearly it is designed for LAN play. To check your Ping in an online game, press the TAB key (default) and look at the number to the far right of your name. For more details on Pings and Lag, see the Video settings below, as well as the Server Browser section later in the guide.

Since you already have the game, not sure if you can return it, you may still be able to get some time outta the single player mode. See this quote. The AI is really good at trying to flank and rush positions.

Offline Account: If you want to play singleplayer Battlefield 2 without connecting to the Internet, you must first create an offline account. To do this, click the 'Manage Accounts' button on the main Account Login screen. Next, click the Singleplayer tab at the top right, and enter whatever username you wish to use for Singleplayer - it doesn't matter if it's not unique. Once created, this account will be added to your main Account Login screen, and you can highlight it and click 'Select Account' whenever you want to play BF2 Singleplayer offline.

Too bad it about the dialup.
