Just got my pride and joy back from the painter. I can stare at this thing for hours...
Man oh man what a good color. The only good color in the spectrum!

Hmmm...does this need clarification. New, unused, clean not dirty, messy, smelly I presume.
:D
Nice ride CherC. (#13...really, good for not being superstitious.)

I didn't make any mods to the engine - it's a stock 750. I just got it painted and put an undertail, carbon fiber levers, GSX-R grips, and a keyless gascap on it. The Renthal sprocket and Yosh pipe were on there when I bought it. I've been riding it for the last couple of days and just fell in love with the bike all over again.
And yeah, I'm not superstitious. Let's just hope that doesn't come back to bite me...

Man, terrible news. I went for a ride last Sunday and on the way back I low-sided around a left-hand turn and crashed over an embankment and into the treeline. Both the bike and I went end-over-end off the road at about 55 mph. I was wearing my helmet, an armored racing jacket, and gloves and I still ended up breaking my neck (a fracture of one of my vertebra on the front side) and my left wrist (four or five of my metacarpals). I got some road rash on my shoulder, elbow, knee, and lower back and had to stay overnight in the hospital but was released the next day. I'm already on my way to healing, but don't have good use of my left hand yet and, despite my protests, have to wear a collar 24/7 until I see the neurologist again. I know full well I'm very lucky to be alive and walking around.
My bike, however, is a completely different story. It's a 1998 model and so isn't worth $4000 any more, but the repair estimate I got today topped $10,000 - for factory replacement parts only. The insurance company will most definitely total the bike and I won't get as good a return out of it as I want, given the custom paint job and aftermarket extras. But I guess as long as I can pay for my hospital bills with the money I get from the bike I've come out of this okay. I'm just so sad to see this bike go away, it was my pride and joy and one of the only things that made me truly happy.
Anyway, I won't be playing BF2 until I get my left hand back. So I'll see you guys as soon as I can.

Man that's just sad. I know I've had some of my best(and worst) times on a motorcyle. I hope you recover quickly and we are glad that you survived for another day!

All the best in your recovery...it could have been a lot worse. As for your bike, shit like that can be replaced.

Damn man, glad you are ok. i still haven't had any spills on a bike yet, but my GF is a different story. She's a little luckier than you, though, she was able to walk away with just a scratch.
hope you get better quickly, and sorry about the bike. sounds like she was your baby.

That SUCKS CC, but remember that the bike is replacable you and your parts are not! Like Tome said don't take any short cuts when it comes to rehab. I shortcutted rehab once, then I had to walk with a cane for 2 years after. Take your time and heal propperlly.
Take care of yourself.

I'll do everything I can to make sure my hand heals right. I mean, my family depends on my hands right now. If I can find that swank mattress tester job then my hands won't be so important. :)
