Hey guys...I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to backup the BF2 CD-Rom. I tried myself, but had no luck...Just curious to know if it is possible and how.
Thanks!!

Well if you have to get a copy of Nero 7 or Alcohol 120 so you can burn an exact .iso image of your game cd. Then use that to play the game in the cd drive. I do it for all my games. If you want to just not play with the cd in the drive go here to this place. http://m0001.gamecopyworld.com/games/pc_battlefield_2.shtml
You can get an .exe file that you can add to your current game folder that will allow you play without the cd. You have to remember that when you patch the game you have to download a new .exe file.

Hey McFeely...thanks for the info. I have had trouble with alcohol 120 in the past and am pretty uneasy about using it again. The last time I used it I had to do a system recovery and lost everything I had inclucing BF2 maps/expansion packs, etc. When I finish installing it and start it, my computer would continuously crash. Any suggestions on what may be causing that? Is it possible I downloaded a corrupt version?
Thanks!

It could be corrupt. I have a clean copy of it I could send to you. PM an address I will send it. You could try Daemon Tools. Did you go to gamecopyworld .com and get the No-CD .exe fix?

yeah i went to gamecopyworld, but all that stuff is new to me and i'm kind of reluctant to try it...worried i'll mess something up. Is it as simple as copying the "bf2.exe" file into the actual game folder and replacing original one?

Don't copy over your original .exe. Just move it to another folder and replace it with the no-cd .exe from GCW. There is a readme file attached to the download from GWC.

just a note.........the gamecopy replacement exe file prevents you playing on a punkbuster guarded server (as I found out yesterday) its only good for singleplayer games
