As a Battlefield 2 player you have qualified for Veteran status in Battlefield 2142. This entitles you to bring your Battlefield 2 soldier name over to Battlefield 2142 before it hits the shelves, making that name unavailable for anyone else to take. You can claim only one soldier name for Battlefield 2142, no matter how many soldier names you have tied to your EA account. You can also choose any new name not already in use for Battlefield 2.

As a reminder of your heroic efforts in Battlefield 2, we are pleased to announce that you will also be awarded an exclusive Veteran indicator next to your name in Battlefield 2142, so other players will recognize that you’ve had a tour of duty in Battlefield 2. You will also receive an immediate promotion in Battlefield 2142, which will let you choose an unlock. Finally, you will receive a new verbal taunt to use in Battlefield 2.

Enter your Battlefield 2 soldier name and password to bring your Battlefield 2 name into Battlefield 2142, or to reserve your new Battlefield 2142 name. You must have an existing EA account to complete this.

Make sure to claim your soldier name as soon as possible! All unclaimed names will be made available to anyone as soon as Battlefield 2142 launches. Please note that the immediate promotion is compatible with any retail program that grants you an immediate promotion, and you will be promoted twice. However, claiming your Veteran status after you have already ranked up through normal gameplay will have no effect on your ranking, though the other rewards can still be claimed.

Not sure if I will be getting this game. Looks like it goes even further away from the infantry style combat I prefer but some of the game modes are more interesting. If it is balanced better than BF2 and has more variety in types of game play then it should be a winner.

BTW...I am downloading the Beta of BF2142 thru my fileplant account. I should have some feedback by next weekend.

Name for 2142 is NinjaA2 left the clan tags out for the built in prefix.

make sure that you dont have EA member name and password mixed up with BF2 name and password. thats what i did.

I'll probably get it...for me it looks ok. I'm sure if we ask nicely, someone will rotate the server around the way we are now with POE, NAW, etc. At least that way we don't get bored from playing the same map over and over. It's always good to stir things up a bit.

the taunt only works if you have 2142 installed, and its for bf2

So once 2142 is realeased and its installed, you can taunt in bf2

The promotional taunt is used in Battlefield 2 but requires that Battlefield 2 and Battlefield 2142 to be installed. Simply use the Spot command on a dead enemy and the taunt can be heard.

The rules for how often it can be used are governed by the servers radio spam settings in the same manner as all player messages. So if you do not hear it every time, this may be the reason why.
